Introduction

SSA Baan (formerly called Triton, Baan IV and then iBaanERP) is the company's flagship product, and one of the components in the Baan Enterprise Solutions suite, launched in 1998. It represents a marketing approach designed to expand beyond Baan's former back-office focus.

Although the new approach is attractive, particularly because it is based on the DEMse concept (analyzing business processes and flows), Baan still needs consistency across its product components. BaanERP remains a short-list choice for the industries that use make-to-order, but is severely challenged by financial instability.
