Some text manipulation hints:

• You must write your own table locks and commits when filling text. This Link talks about commit problems.
• Text Write and other commands work best if you have an actual Table Field in hand, not a variable declared as type text. Use any old table with a text field as a dummy if necessary.
• Text Write takes from an ASCII file. If you build that file, make sure it has a new line character at the end of each desired line.
• The Text Group plays an important part of text development - make sure you have a default text group defined for the user you are developing with.
