- to disable and enable commands and fields

- to update total fields
- to execute a function for one or all occurrences on a form
- to execute standard commands
- to display default field values
- to make fields visible or invisible
- to mark and unmark occurrences
- to display fill characters in fields
- to refresh the current record
- to reset a field to its previous value
