Responsible for providing efficient, contemporary, and cost-effective voice and data communications systems and services. Responsible for monitoring the network, assessing the functionality of the network, and maintaining the company phone system.
This position requires attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and a focus on security and confidentiality.
•Monitor network performance, utilization, latency, and availability; respond proactively to issues. •Configure network infrastructure, perform upgrades as necessary •Identify deficiencies and make recommendations for improvements. •Manage and troubleshoot company telephony infrastructure and voicemail system. •Install, configure, and test equipment •Support and recommend network policies and procedures •Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring, analysis and performance tuning •Secures network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation. •Submit financial data for annual budgets •Assess technical aspects of voice and data communications projects ensuring priorities are communicated. •Using diagnostic tools and equipment, generate, modify, and customize configuration of equipment. •Conduct system analysis and design functional specifications to be used for voice and data application development. •Interface with hardware and service vendors to obtain information and support for problems, coordinate systems repair as required. •Review project status with management, finalize details, and establish timeframe requirements. •Perform other related duties as required.
No direct supervisory responsibility. May act as project team leader. May be required to train and assist other employees.
Preferred experience in all or most of the following areas: •HP Procurve networking gear •HP IMC and/or Procurve Manager management software •Experience with TCP/IP, SNMP, routing protocols •Experience with packet capture and analysis tools (Wireshark, Tshark, tcpdump) •Experience with Information Security •NAC and 802.1x authentication •Enterprise wifi systems, preferably Juniper/Trapeze •Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and SCEP/NDES •VOIP systems, preferably Avaya •ROLM Legacy PBX and voicemail systems •Network Performance Tuning •Network Design and Implementation
