Lightbulb print 2nd report from 1st report script

Hello

Is it possible to call another report from the report script of first report. The layout of the 2 report are identical. As soon as the first report is finished I want to print another report. Maybe from "After Report" section.

My users want things to be automated so when they print "Packing Slip" they want a "customs document" printed automatically without having to select the 2nd report.

Any ideas,,,,,
Thanks.

Several Ideas

I have several ideas but the best is to modify the main session to print both reports at once. The second is to use a API type function server to run that session from the report. I am not sure I have tried this, but it would probably work. Third solution is that if you do not have source for the first solution, then you use something like the extend source solution or QKEY to add sections to the main session to run both reports. I would probably do an API type function server here also.

You might be able to use the brp.open() function. Refer to the library entry on this brp.open()
and/or this thread might help
call two reports

works ...

Thanks to all for responding.

Mark's idea of STP API worked.

I have coded in the After.report layout to call the "print packing slip" session.

Thank you once again.

Qkey is a product that was originally put out by redklay, and then it eventually went to fullscope. I believe it is no longer supported, but a comparable tool is made by crossroads RMC. There is a freeware version by ~vamsi in the code and utilities forum. These tools essentially allow you to expand on the original session while not owning the source code - you can't do everything, but there is a whole lot you can do with the tools.

My latest mantra - make sure you have latest stpapi patches and the latest session object. If on LN then please explore the option of using DAL2 functionality.
