Skip the Lines in Report

A new blog entry has been added:

Skip the Lines in Report

Quote:
Hi,

I Want to skip the lines from the report.
Actaul Report was.
Item Code  Description Section1  Section2 Total
A1 T1  1 2 3
A2  T2  0 0 0
A3 T3 5 5 10
Total Value is comming from the report script.
If the toatl value is 0 then that the record has to skip.
Output:
Item Code  Description  Section1  Section2  Total
A1 T1  1 2 3

If you own the session script I would get the total before the report and skip it that way. If you do not own the script then in the report you have to calculate the total in something like the before.layout event and see if it is 0 - then you can set lattr.print to false.

Hi,

Thank you for your valuable reply.
But in layout i taken 22 lines and for suppose second line total value is 0.
for that i want to print remaining 21 lines.
only second line has to skip.
if i kept the lattr.print =false total layout will not print.
so please advise for that.

Thank You,
Sarath Kumar.

If the layout is 22 lines then use the print expression on the variables on the line in question. You could do something like some.value>0.

The only other thing I can think of is to separate the layout into smaller pieces then you can not print the whole layout rather than getting a blank like in the middle of a larger layout.

Hi,

Thanks for the update.
But splitting 22 lines into 22 report layouts is very hard.
is there any option available for skipping the records?

Thanks,
Sarath Kumar.

You can skip the layout, you can skip fields in a layout - but I do not know of a way to make a blank line disappear in a 22 line layout.
