Need help to add/modify field
Baan: Baan IVc4
C/S: Both

Hi,

I need some help because I would like to add or modify a field in order to store email addresses in our BAAN IVc4
Currently we use the field tccom010.namf to store the email address but sometimes this field is a bit too short.
So is it possible to increase the field length ?
Or better add a field tccom010.email (for example) ?

And for information, I don't have source code.
Help will be very appreciate

Add table

Hello,
i suggest to add a new table to your system.
(requirement development license)

tccom010.namf is multibyte 30 characters (City 2) with domain tcnamf

Add a new table with field xxyyy999.cuno (tccuno ) and xxyyy.999.mail (domain tcmcs.str50) or (domain tcmcs.str100) - enough characters.
Create a maintain session for this table.
Add this session as choice.user to tccom0110m000.

In all sessionscripts / reportscripts you'll be able to use the fields from the new table.

Avoid to change a domain. Check where domain tcnamf is used.
If tcnamf is used in other tables, avoid to change. There will be side effects in DLL or other functions.

Regards

What service pack are you on? There is an email field added at some point (tccom010.mail) on form 3 of maintain customers.

I have downloaded different service packs and it looks like that email field has been added in service pack 25.
I'll look to install service packs 23, 24 and 25, keeping fingers crossed. Service pack can break things sometimes.

Unhappy

I tried to install the following service pack : 23, 24 and 25
Everything seems to be fine except that the new email field looks missing because when I open session tccom1101m000 I got the following error message :
Error : screen field 'tccom010.mail' unknown

(translated from french " Error : Champ d'écran 'tccom010.mail' inconnu ")

I got the same with session tccom2101m000 for suppliers

Any help would be very appreciate

May be I found the problem, many years ago someone has develop a patch for us to add 2 new fields in tccom010.
Maybe this patch interfere with the service pack ?
Is it possible to temporary remove the previous patch to finish applying the service pack and then reinstall the patch ?

Hello,
the new table def. from servicepack is stored in the update VRC (B40Uc4stnd).
Add this field to your table in your VRC expl.
Use the field name and the domain as in B40Uc4stnd.

CRDD / reorganize and the field should be usable in your "expl" environment.

Regards
