Baan: LN - DB: Ms SQL Server - OS: Windows Server 2003
Database Server Name should be your computer name
For your case, make sure your computer named "Local"

SQL backwards compatible

Execute SQLServer2005_BC.msi.
This file can be found on the SQL installation CD/DVD:
.\x86\setup\x86\SQLServer2005_BC.msi for 32-bits system or .\x64\setup\x64\SQLServer2005_BC.msi for 64-bits system.

This tool installs some dll's that are needed to make Baan-IV or ERP_LN work on SQL2008.

Baan: ERP LN - DB: Oracle, MS SQL - OS: NT, UNIX
Thumbs up

I also faced the same problem while installing the new porting set 8.6a (to work with Windows 2008 Server along with SQL Server 2008 SP1).

Solution that was followed

* Execute the vcredist_x86.exe present in the "Infor ES Porting Set Microsoft x86 Windows 8.6a" folder.

* Start the installation of Enterprise Server Portingset 8.6a (ERP LN).
