Unhappy Enum
Baan: Other/Unknown
C/S: None/Unknown

Is there a way to make a field an enum that the user can choose and at the same time if the user doesn't want to use any of the enum choices, allow them to enter free form text? Any help would be appreciated.

Why not just make the enum a table? Then they can zoom and pick what they want. Then in the session you can make the form field a text field so they can free form text - of course you could any check inputs.

My latest mantra - make sure you have latest stpapi patches and the latest session object. If on LN then please explore the option of using DAL2 functionality.

You could add and "Other" to the enum and if the user chooses it, give them access to a form field, otherwise skip the form field. In 3GL, you can create a DsCdDComBox object and load it programatically with enum values, but you are probably using 4GL.
