Baan: 10.5 - DB: MS SQL - OS: windows
set spool.fileout for report
Baan: Other/Unknown
C/S: None/Unknown

Hi all,

How can I set spool.fileout for many reports?

My script:

long result
domain tcmcs.str15 spool.device.pdf, spool.device.csv

spool.device.csv = "INF_ERS_CSVT"
spool.device.pdf = "INF_ERS_PDFT"

spool.fileout = "Engine.CSV"
brp.id1 = brp.open("rtxtrm140000900",spool.device.csv,1)

spool.fileout = "Component.PDF"
brp.id2 = brp.open("rtxtrm140000901",spool.device.pdf,1)

spool.fileout = "Component.CSV"
brp.id3 = brp.open("rtxtrm140000902",spool.device.csv,1)

|*----------
case 1:
brp.ready(brp.id1)
case 2:
brp.ready(brp.id2)
case 3:
brp.ready(brp.id3)

|*---------------

brp.close(brp.id1)
brp.close(brp.id2)
brp.close(brp.id3)

But I got only one file that is "Component.CSV" . Could you advise please?

Try to set spool.fileout to the correct value before the corresponding brp.close() again.

Under 4c4 I either generated reports 1 at a time or just wrote the output to a file. So in your case it looks like 2 CSV files and 1 PDF file. I would just write the 2 CSV files myself and use the PDF features from a report.

My latest mantra - make sure you have latest stpapi patches and the latest session object. If on LN then please explore the option of using DAL2 functionality.

Arista is apparently using Infor Reporting to create the files and I assume the $file placeholder is used to store the file with that name.

Yeah - figured there might be something fancier in LN.

See the code and utilities forum - http://www.baanboard.com/baanboard/s...ead.php?t=5880. That is just one example of how to create excel files. And basically all I did in 4C4 environment was use seq.open and seq.puts to create either Comma or | delimited files. Just some quick simple code snippets from a conversion program. That is basically how I created the output files to load into oracle EBS. This way would could pull them into excel for anything else that might be needed.

Code:
	temp.itm = creat.tmp.file$(bse.tmp.dir$())
        temp.itm = strip$(temp.itm)
        output.itm = seq.open(temp.itm,"w")
	buff = "SOURCE|DESCRIPTION|STATUS CODE|ITEM|ITEM TYPE|LONG DESC|INV. ORG|UOM|FIXED DAYS SUPPLY|FIXE LOT MULTIPLIER|"
	     & "FIXED ORDER QTY|MAX ORDER QTY|MIN. ORD QTY|PLANNER CODE|SHELF LIFE|POSTPROCESSING LEAD TIME|"
	     & "PREPROCESSING LEAD TIME|PROCESSING LEAD TIME|HEIGHT|LENGTH|WEIGHT|WIDTH|BUYER|INSPECTION|TEMPLATE|"
	rc = seq.puts(buff, output.itm)

	buff = 	sprintf$("WS|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s|%s",
		strip$(desc.item), org.csig, trim$(itemmaster.item), itemtype, "", pegorg, converted.uom, conv.ordi, conv.oqmf , conv.fioq, "", "",
		make.planner, conv.shld, conv.post, conv.prep, conv.proc, conv.heig, conv.leng,	conv.weig, conv.widt, strip$(tcudi005.psno), org.insp, itemtemplate)
	rc = seq.puts(buff, output.itm)
