Error when backup LN to tape use command TAR
Baan: Other/Unknown
DB: Other/Unknown
OS: Other/Unknown
C/S: None/Unknown

Hi,

I have daily backup from disk to tape using aix TAR for LN.
Once a while I receive error message like erpln/bse/tmp/bshell.1597646 or erpln/bse/tmp/tmp093994055 skipped : A file or directory in the path name does not exist.

Does anyone know this issue and how to eliminate ?

Thanks from Cindy

No need for tmp backup

Hello,
there's no need to take a backup from $BSE/tmp

Exclude it from your backup.

Regards

I agree with excluding the dir. The likely root cause is that the file existing at start of tar command but then the file was removed or went away before the tar command completed (i.e., "who moved my cheese?")

TAR options

Hello,

i suggest to use the tar command with an exclude option like:

--exclude-tag-under=FILE exclude everything under directories containing FILE

So the tar command exclude the $BSE/tmp dir at Startup.

Regards
