Baan: Baan5 - DB: MSSQL2000 - OS: Windows Advance Server 2000
SQL *.mdf file
Baan: ERP LN 6.1 FP6
DB: SQL Server 2008
OS: Windows 2008
C/S: None/Unknown

Hi,

Can someone please explain when creating baan database, how to separate the *.mdf file into example baandb1.mdf, baandb2.mdf, baandb3.mdf.

Plus how to combine it into a single *.mdf file.

What is the benefit for creating so many *.mdf file cause it will only increase the harddisk space as compare to single *.mdf file.

Please advise.

These are pretty loaded questions and confusing that one point is asking how to create multiple mdfs and another asking to combine?
You need to be clear on the purpose of creating multiple mdf's and why do you want to consolidate?
I hope you have a SQL Server DBA in house, as it can be very specialist skill for a Baan Admin to handle, unless you are quite savvy.
