Baan: Baan IV - DB: SQL - OS: Windows Server
Test Environment Cloned from Production/Change Servers
Baan: Other/Unknown
DB: Other/Unknown
OS: Other/Unknown
C/S: None/Unknown

Hi guys,

We have two production VM's for our baan installation. One application server and one database server.

(This is Baan IV. Windows Server 2008 R2)

I've cloned these VM's and moved them to an isolated network.

Is there a way to update the application server such that it points to the correct database server?

I'm trying to create a test environment isolated from production.

Thanks!

Baan: Baan IVc3, IVc4, 5b, 5c, ERP LN 6.1, Infor ERP 10.x - DB: SQL Server, Oracle - OS: Windows, Linux, HPUX, AIX, (a little bit of) Solaris
This is stored in, potentially, one of several files. Check $BSE\lib\tabledef6.1 (may be tabledef6.2, depending on your portingset) or $BSE\lib\defaults\db_resource. It should be one of those. Change all of the references from the prod SQL server to the test SQL server, then login. I usually log into the test SQL server at that point and verify that there is a corresponding process launched to verify Baan is connecting to that server.

Once you've done the above, you will also want to update the database definition in Maintain Database Definitions to point to the correct server (in Baan IV, for both your non-audit and audit definitions).

Thanks,

Vince
