Report output to XML - LN FP7
Baan: ERP LN 6.1 FP7
DB: Oracle 11gR2
OS: Other/Unknown
C/S: None/Unknown

Hi all,

Is it possible to get a decent proper report output in XML format nowadays with standard LN (FP7) and/or native integrated other solutions?

I want to direct the report output to XML so that an external document layout tool can pick the xml file up and map it into the properly formatted document.

When I just use standard printing with argument XML, the output is done per layout section and row in the report, which is not usable.

I appreciate if you can share your (positive) experiences.

Regards,
Eli Nager

Hi Eli,

you can use the XML-Objects in thr Programmers Guide. You can create with these functions your own XML structure.

Best regards

Thanks for your suggestions.

@Akash: We are not looking for full reporting tools, we are just looking for xml generated output from LN, which will serve as an input for our external document design tool.

@michael: I know those functions, but if I use those I will have to create full documents from scratch for each of the external documents, which is a lot of work. I was/am hoping on a dynamic solution which can serve for any LN report to get the output in useful XML format.

If any external (3rd party) plug-in or add-on is available that could also be very helpful.

Thanks,
Eli
