DEM - Can a normal user be authorized for 'Execute SQL Query' session?
Baan: Baan IVc4

Hi Baan Experts,

In Baan IV, a normal user has DEM authorizations for some modules in Distribution Package. Now the user wants access and authorization to execute "Execute SQL Query" session.

1. Is it possible to give authorizations for "Execute SQL Query" session for a normal user?

2. Is there any restriction that only super user can execute ‘Execute SQL Query’ session and normal user can not?

Appreciates your help/suggestions

Thank you,

Best Regards,
Srinivas

Thank you Hitesh Shah,

It would be great help if you can explain how a normal user be authorized to execute the session, without making him as super user.

Hi

If you are setting up user access through DEM, access to Execute Query can be given the same as any other session. However, this will allow that user to execute all queries.

What is more commonly done is to include specific queries in the DEM processes at the appropriate points. To do this, add the execute query session to the process activity and also add the query code into the argument field. Then the specific query can be launched from the DEM, and to the end user it looks like running any other standard report.
