Baan: Baan IV - DB: Oracle - OS: win XP
Can I input data by reading Bar Code with Card Reader?
Baan: Other/Unknown
C/S: None/Unknown

I know Baan can output Bar Code on report. But now, I want to know whether I can import data(like Order Number, Item Code, Order Quantity and so on) by reading Bar Code with Card Reader. Or should I read Bar Code informations and output to one text file. Then import the data to Baan from the text file?

Has anyone knows it?

Reading a textfile generated by Bar code reader to update the Baan Tables will be a better option . We were doing the same . I am not aware wether we can directly import data from card reader , for that we will have to re-program the barcode software , should be possible .

One thing that comes in my mind is call a BaaN DLL from the barcode program and pass the values you want to update .

Regards,
Niraj
