Upgrading Windows Server with LN application

Hello dear forum,

we plan to upgrade a windows server 2012 (and also a windows server 2016) to windows server 2019 with an inforLN FP8 installation.

Is it possible to just make an upgrade, has anyone an experience? The alternative is a new setup, but I shy away from the greater effort

I'm not sure you can do an in place upgrade for Windows. But there are relatively easy ways to "move" a Windows installation to a new server. Basically, install a new portingset on the new Windows server, move the existing BSE to the new server (other than the portingset related directories), and make sure the tabledef6.2, etc., are pointed to the right database server.

for a live environment i would suggest to install new from scratch,
for a test machine u can clone the server.
But u are doing this every xx years, and u have a new clean system
