Changing warehouse type

We are going to implement ILC and also Wip warehouses.

Baan doesn't allow to change the warehouse type if an item has stock data on it, or if there are cumulative issues.
Our users are used to theses codes, has someone changed this type with GTM, is it really to risky ?

We're on 4b, heading to 4c. We have changed warehouse types in GTM fairly often with no impact (including a recent change from a normal warehouse to a transit warehouse.) One thing to keep in mind is your financial integrations. They may need to be re-done to correctly cost your inventory if you use them (tied to the warehouse) to classify your inventory (FGI versus WIP for example.

Functional work around:
first transfer all items into an tmp warehouse, change characteristics and then move items back... (only in Baan of course...)

Thanks for the tips! A temporary warehouse should be the easiest and cheapest alternative until you get a new one.
