Baan: Baan IVc3, IVc4, V, ERP LN6.1 - DB: SQL Server 7, SQL Server 2000 Enterprise, SQL Server 2005, Oracle9 + - OS: Windows NT/2000/2003 Server, Linux, HPUX, AIX, (a little bit of) Solaris
First of all, it is really not recommended to change the item segmentation. I know, that at least in FP3, there were sessions that had the assumption of a 9 character project segment followed by a 38 character item segment hardcoded in the program script.

That being said, it looks like you changed the tcitem domain to be a 9 character item segment followed by a 38 character project segment? Unless you are just experimenting, you may want to reconsider that. Also, did you perform a reconfig after you made this change? Just changing the parameter doesn't automatically change the data; any table containing fields of the tcitem domain will need to be reconfigured.
